The pH value measures the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. A pH of 7 indicates neutrality; water with a pH lower than 7 is considered acidic, while water with a pH higher than 7 is alkaline. The typical pH range for surface water systems is between 6.5 and 8.5. For Project Oasis the pH range is maintained between 6.5 and 7.5.
